I had a regular post set for this week, but I’m going to put that one on hold till next week because I had to share what Emma did last night.

She rolled over for the first time!
Not just once, but twice.

I saw the first one from across the room. I was cooking dinner and watching her from the kitchen and she rolled right over from her back to her belly. Once she got tired of her belly, I flipped her back over and went back to finish cooking. A few minutes later I looked over and she had rolled to her belly again! So then I decided to try and capture it on video, and of course she stopped doing it. She’s already wise to the camera at 4 months of age.
And since she’s figured that out, she now prefers to lay on her side instead of her back. She’s got a new way of seeing the world!
My big brother constantly narrates my life. 🙂
Now I’m going to have to be extra vigilant about where I set her down when doing things. Once your little one can roll, there’s no telling if they will be in the same place as they were when you set them down. The middle of our large bed used to be safe, now it might not be. And the straps in the chairs will be more important now as well.
The adventure continues! I can’t wait to see what she learns next!

She is absolutely adorable! That is an exciting moment. I clearly remember when my oldest son Chris rolled for the first time. He was working at it so diligently for what seemed a pretty long time but he wouldn’t quit until he did it! He’s been persevering at everything that came his way ever since!
What a great memory! It’s great to see that some of the character traits of when they are little will persist as they get older. I just love watching Matthew and Emma grow up – it’s so amazing to see the world through their eyes!
