This week I celebrated my 36th birthday! And this year was extra special because I was visited by some beloved family that I never get to see often enough – my older sister Andrea, her husband Ryan, and their little adopted son Anderson.
Not only was the visit great for my sister and I to catch back up (which is always so much more fun in person than over the phone or even with Facetime), but it was the first time my little kiddos and Anderson got to meet each other in person! Since I currently live in Maine and my sister currently lives in Minnesota, the distance is much too far for frequent visits. And unfortunately since we both have young children, that has added an additional challenge to travel. Additionally, Anderson has a genetic condition called Hurler Syndrome (also known as MPS Type 1), which has caused him to have to undergo a lot of medical treatments since his birth, including two bone marrow transplants. During this time, his interaction with other people (especially germ prone other children!) was limited, so for his safety we had to wait to get everyone together for a meeting. Luckily, he’s currently doing well and was finally cleared for airline travel and to meet my Matthew and Emma!
It was a super fun and crazy busy few days – so here’s a few pictures and videos of our adventures!

Matthew & Anderson, just out for a nice spring drive!

Matthew’s first trip to the ocean!

I’ll be back with more regular blog content next week. Until then, enjoy a glimpse into my life!
All the best,
Lesley
